03 27.11.2008 The home stretch
Continued from 02 24.11.2008 Painting Starts
Thursday 27 November 2008 - In early to paint over the toilet scene and carry on with the schedule. All day the children asked why the toilet had gone?
News on the radio this morning all about the attacks in India. My initial thought is it will create an excuse to hit Pakistan...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7752768.stm
More children put painted hands on walls and I carried on...
Entrance to the toilets...
The atrium at close of play...
Friday 28 November 2008 - Walked to the local high street to look at the Botesdale Chapel Of Ease...
Posing for a photo with some of the children...
Photo removed due to the school's E-Safety policy which stipulates no use of recognisable photos of children with or without names
Looking from left to right...
And round the corner into the toilet corridor...
Photo removed due to the school's E-Safety policy which stipulates no use of recognisable photos of children with or without names
Kids' hand-prints on the wall...
.... and looking back along the corridor...
So, another project completed. Thanks to Kate, Faith, Eilish and Amelia for yuor hand made cards and notes - you're welcome.

02 24.11.208 Painting starts
Continued from 01 Armistice Day 11/11 at 11am
Monday 24 November 2008 - NPP posters were all over the school with messages such as the one below: Ned is coming...
The blank atrium wall...
Firstly, I put down some black paint and received numerous questions 'why are you painting black'? Because... one of the students, Kate, told me we had been pictured together in the local Mercury newspaper. Headteacher Georgina Livingstone had a copy of the piece...
.... and here's Kate on the right with 3 other students sat in front of some black wall...
Photo removed due to the school's E-Safety policy which stipulates no use of recognisable photos of children with or without names
.... and some more black around a cupboard...
Photo removed due to the school's E-Safety policy which stipulates no use of recognisable photos of children with or without names
Then I started on the rainbow spectrum; violet.
Tuesday 25 November 2008 - Arrived just after 9am, painted through to 4.45pm...
The rainbow background is completed...
Wednesday 26 November 2008 - We started painting on a second wall space by the toilets. Georgina from the The Diss Express phoned, I spoke with her, Caitlin spoke with her and about midday Mark the photographer tuned up. We expect an article on Friday. The kids worked really well today and probably exceeded my expectations...

We had maybe 40-50 of the smaller kids in to put their hand prints over this piece of rainbow coloured wall...
I left it this evening like this...
Apparently, some comments have been made about how the 'wash your hands' cartoon might be 'misinterpreted'. I'm interested to know how it might be interpreted? We all go to the toilet, this wall is next to the toilets and the message 'wash your hands' is surely an important reminder, ama bos ver - never mind. Anyway, I'll change it tomorrow.
